Weekly Watchlist - June.01, 2025
Continue to see some really strong moves in some of the stocks mentioned recently.
Weekly Chart - Los Andes Copper - Market Cap $191 Million - Breakout Candidate
It’s been a rough ride for Los Andes over the last couple years, as the share price has knocked down badly. The stock was up over 10% Friday and is showing some positive signs. It hasn’t broken out yet, but it’s worth monitoring especially as other copper stocks like $NGEX for example have been on a tear.
The company is focused on developing its Vizcachitas copper project in Chile. The company hopes to start production in 2029, its project has Environmental approvals in place from 2019 and they are hoping to start construction next year which is dependent on financing. Which is a big deal as the mega mine will cost over $2 billion to build. The company has completed a PFS and the post tax NPV was 2.8 billion at an 8% discount rate with much lower metal prices than we currently have.
Weekly Chart - Apollo Silver - Market Cap $105 million - Breakout
Nice to see lots of volume pouring into the stock as it broke above resistance from the last few years. The companies main focus is the Calico Silver Project which is actually in California. They have over 100 million ounces in the measured and indicated category at the property and have recently expanded the land package as they look to add more. This is near surface oxide material which will make economics and mining very attractive.
Weekly Chart - Akita Drilling - Market Cap $83 Million - Breakout
This is a company I wrote about in late 2023 at $1.76, the stock broke out of resistance this week finally although I would have liked to see some more volume come in. It’s a small Canadian oil services stock that operates over 17 rigs in Canada and 13 in the Permian Basin. I thought the stock was very cheap in 2023 and I believe this is still the case.
The company has continued to grow revenues and net income while paying off debt. Recent revenue from Q1 was 65 million and net income was $8 million which was up over 200% from last year. Debt is down to $51 million after being around $69 million at the same time last year.
